This oldie but goodie is great to take the edge off after a hustle-and-bustle day.
Mix sugar and water together
Bring to a boil
Stir until sugar dissolves
Remove from heat and let cool
Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice and add your whiskey and simple syrup.
Squeeze the lemon juice into the shaker.
Put the lid on and shake, shake, shake until it’s fully mixed.
Add a few ice cubes to a highball glass and pour your mixture over the top.
