  • 1 tbsp Butter cut into fours

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and place rack in the lower-middle spot.
  2. Core apples, leaving about half an inch at the bottom and creating a well about ¾” wide.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, oatmeal, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Divide evenly among the four apples, packing firmly.
  4. Arrange stuffed apples in a baking dish, topping each with a pat of butter.
  5. Add 1 cup hot water to the dish, cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and continue baking 20 to 30 minutes, until apples are soft when poked with a knife and brown sugar has become syrupy.
  7. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or crème fraîche.

  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Cold Butter cubed

Pie Crust
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt.
  3. Using a pastry cutter, cut in butter until crumbly. Butter should resemble small peas. Gradually add water and vanilla to flour mix, blending with a fork until the dough forms a ball.
  4. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Alternately, use a prepared pie crust and move on to the next step.
Filling
  1. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 10” circle.
  2. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Combine filling ingredients and spoon over pastry, leaving about two inches on the outside.
  4. Fold edges of pastry over filling, leaving the center uncovered.
Finishing & Topping
  1. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the filling.
  2. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
  3. Slide onto a cooling rack and drizzle with caramel.

  1. Place chickpeas, panko breadcrumbs, chickpea flour, onion, garlic, soy sauce, cider vinegar, smoked paprika, rubbed sage, thyme and black pepper into food processor bowl. Pulse until ingredients are well-mixed. Add shredded apple and pulse again just until mixed.
  2. Transfer mixture to sealed container and chill one hour or overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment. Brush tops and bottoms of burgers with olive oil.
  4. Bake 30 minutes, flipping about halfway through.
  5. Stuff into buns and top with toppings of choice.
